Terms of Use

Last updated: July 27, 2026

Agreement

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of PDFTwin at pdftwin.com and related pages. PDFTwin is operated by Helios Impex, a company based in India (“Helios Impex,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using PDFTwin, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Service description

PDFTwin is a browser-based document workspace with 18 tools for converting, organizing, comparing, and protecting PDFs and related file formats. Tools are grouped into three categories:

  • Convert & export — PDF to Word or Excel, Word to PDF, image conversion, images to PDF, PDF to JPG/PNG, PDF to text, OCR, compress PDF, and resize images
  • Organize documents — compare PDFs, merge and arrange, split, extract pages, remove pages, and rotate pages
  • Protect files — watermark PDF, lock and unlock, and sign PDF

Some tools run entirely in your browser; others send files to our servers for processing. See our How it works page and the Privacy Policy for details on where each tool processes data. Features, limits, and tool availability may change as the product evolves.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use PDFTwin. If you use the service on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

Accounts

Most tools work without an account. Creating an account is optional for the Free plan and may be required for Pro checkout and plan management. When you register, you provide an email address and password through our authentication provider (Supabase). You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account.

Account data includes your email address and plan status (Free or Pro). We do not store your uploaded documents in your account — see the Privacy Policy for how files are handled.

Plans, limits, and billing

Free plan

The Free plan includes access to all 18 tools with no watermark on output. Free limits include:

  • Up to 50 MB per file
  • Up to 5 PDFs per merge batch
  • 3 PDF → Word or Excel exports per calendar day
  • Unlimited use of client-side organize and convert tools (merge, split, compare, OCR, sign, and others that run in your browser)

Pro plan

PDFTwin Pro costs $9 USD per month and includes everything in Free, plus:

  • Up to 200 MB per file
  • Unlimited PDF → Word and Excel exports
  • Unlimited merge batch size (6 or more PDFs in one merge)
  • Priority server processing when available

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly through PayPal until you cancel. Payment details are collected and processed by PayPal — Helios Impex does not receive or store your card number or bank credentials. By subscribing, you authorize recurring monthly charges at the price shown at checkout.

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel Pro at any time through your PayPal account (Settings → Payments → Manage automatic payments). Cancellation stops future billing; Pro access continues until the end of the current paid period. Refunds are handled under PayPal’s policies. There is no separate free trial — the Free plan lets you evaluate all tools at no cost before upgrading.

Plan enforcement

We enforce Free-plan limits through file-size checks, server-side daily export counters, and client-side merge batch gates. Attempting to bypass these limits or misrepresent your plan status is a violation of these Terms.

Your content

You retain ownership of the files you upload and the outputs you download. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the right to process, modify, and distribute any documents you submit — including compliance with copyright, confidentiality, employment, and data-protection obligations.

You grant Helios Impex a limited, temporary license to process your files solely to provide the service you request. For server-side tools, this license ends when processing completes and the file is discarded from memory. We do not claim ownership of your content.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use PDFTwin to:

  • Upload or process unlawful, harmful, fraudulent, or infringing content
  • Process documents you do not have permission to access or modify
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the service or its APIs
  • Circumvent plan limits, security controls, or authentication
  • Use automated means to abuse server-side tools or evade rate limits
  • Resell or repackage PDFTwin as a competing service without written permission

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.

Output quality and tool limitations

PDFTwin is provided as a productivity tool, not a certified legal, financial, or compliance service. You should review all outputs before relying on them.

  • Document conversion — PDF → Word/Excel and Word → PDF quality depends on source layout complexity. Scanned PDFs may need OCR before conversion; complex designs may require manual cleanup.
  • OCR — Optical character recognition runs locally in your browser and may contain errors, especially on low-quality scans or handwriting.
  • Compare PDF — Side-by-side viewing helps review differences but is not a substitute for legal redlining or certified document comparison.
  • Sign PDF — Adds a visual signature image (drawn or uploaded). It is not a qualified electronic signature under eIDAS, ESIGN, or similar regulations unless your jurisdiction and use case explicitly allow image signatures.
  • Lock & unlock — Unlocking works for restriction-only PDFs and empty passwords. Encrypted files require the correct password; we cannot recover lost passwords.

We do not add watermarks to Free or Pro output as a matter of current product design. That practice is not a warranty, guarantee, or contractual commitment of any kind.

Intellectual property

PDFTwin, its name, logo, site design, and underlying software are owned by Helios Impex or its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks or source code except the limited right to use the service as intended.

Third-party services

PDFTwin relies on third-party providers including Supabase (authentication), PayPal (billing), Vercel (hosting and analytics), and open-source libraries (PDF.js, pdf-lib, Tesseract.js, and others). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms. OCR language models are downloaded from third-party CDNs on first use when you run the OCR tool in your browser.

No warranties or guarantees

PDFTwin is provided strictly on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Helios Impex disclaims all warranties and guarantees of every kind — whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, quiet enjoyment, accuracy, reliability, availability, security, and non-infringement.

Without limiting the foregoing, we do not warrant or guarantee that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
  • Any conversion, OCR, compression, or other output will be accurate or complete
  • Defects will be corrected or that the service will meet your requirements
  • Any particular feature, limit, or pricing will remain available unchanged
  • Client-side or server-side processing will suit confidential, legal, or regulatory use

Any descriptions, marketing copy, FAQs, or product policies on the site describe current intent only. They do not create warranties, service-level commitments, or guarantees unless expressly stated in a separate signed written agreement with Helios Impex.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • Helios Impex, its directors, officers, employees, agents, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or otherwise, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
  • Helios Impex will not be liable for any damages arising from your content, your reliance on outputs from the service, unauthorized access to your account, third-party services, or events outside our reasonable control.
  • Our aggregate total liability for all claims arising out of or relating to PDFTwin or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid to Helios Impex for PDFTwin Pro in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars (USD $50).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Helios Impex and its directors, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Changes to the service and Terms

We may modify PDFTwin, plan limits, pricing, or these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with revised Terms, stop using the service and cancel any active Pro subscription.

Termination

You may stop using PDFTwin at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these Terms, abuse, or operational reasons. Sections that by their nature should survive (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive termination.

General

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Helios Impex regarding PDFTwin. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree that courts located in India have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these Terms or your use of PDFTwin, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.

Contact

Questions about these Terms may be directed to Helios Impex through the contact options listed on pdftwin.com. A dedicated support email will be published on the site when available.
